Ferritin

Ferritin is a protein that stores iron in your body.

Low levels of ferritin may indicate iron deficiency anemia, which can lead to symptoms like fatigue, weakness, pale skin, and shortness of breath. In severe cases, it can cause complications such as heart problems and developmental delays in children.

High levels of ferritin may indicate conditions such as hemochromatosis, liver disease, or inflammation. Elevated ferritin levels can also occur due to excessive iron supplementation.
