Alpha-Fetoprotein, Tumor Marker

The Alpha-Fetoprotein (AFP) Tumor Marker test is a critical tool in the early detection and monitoring of certain cancers, particularly liver cancer and testicular cancer.

AFP is a protein produced by the liver and yolk sac of a developing fetus, but elevated levels in adults can indicate the presence of certain cancers, including liver cancer, testicular cancer, and sometimes ovarian or pancreatic cancer.
